Yellow Fever (as of 2001-10-31)
Yellow Fever Certificates are required for persons whose journeys start or entail passing through the Yellow Fever Endemic Areas.
The International Health Regulation ActANo.28 of 1974 stipulates that a valid Yellow Fever Certificate is required from all passengers over one year of age traveling from an infected area.
The list of Yellow Fever Endemic Areas is as follows:

The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that Zambia is no longer listed as a yellow fever endemic country. The WHO International Travel and Health booklet will be revised accordingly.
This health requirement is also applicable to those persons who are exempt from visa control traveling from a yellow fever endemic area.
Persons arriving at South African Ports of Entry without valid Yellow Fever Certificates, where applicable, will either be kept under observation for six days at their own cost or be vaccinated against yellow fever at their own cost. At Ports of Entry where no Port Health Officers are based, persons will be refused entry into South Africa.
